After 4 years of full-time study at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine, I graduated in 2007 with a degree in Osteopathy and a diploma in Naturopathy. I completed a Paediatric Osteopathy course in 2018, and I am very comfortable working structurally with all ages.
I will treat the whole person and not just the symptoms (holistic), and I will work with you to create a personalised treatment plan that addresses your unique needs.

What is osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
Osteopaths use touch, physical manipulation, stretching and massage to increase the mobility of joints, to relieve muscle tension, to enhance the blood and nerve supply to tissues, and to help your body’s own healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms recurring.
What does an osteopath treat?
Osteopaths treat a wide range of musculoskeletal problems such as back and neck pain, pain due to arthritis, minor sport injuries, postural issues including during pregnancy. Osteopaths are trained to recognise the conditions that they cannot treat, and sometimes, a referral to your GP or hospital might be necessary. If you are uncertain, then do not be shy, make a phone call to discuss.
What to expect when you visit an osteopath
You will be welcomed into my home, and once comfortable, asked questions about your health and lifestyle in line with the reason for your seeking treatment. After, I will conduct a thorough physical assessment. Please wear shorts/cycling shorts and a t-shirt underneath your clothing to ensure you feel comfortable with the level of exposure. You will be asked to perform specific physical movements to aid assessment, and I am likely to perform manual assessment of various areas. Consent will be received from you beforehand. A discussion of findings will take place throughout, and if treatment is appropriate; we will discuss together the best way forward. More appointments might be advised following on from the initial consultation.
